Nukkad Natak 'How Social Media is Impacting our life

Nukkad Natak , performed by children in Vasundhara Ghaziabad

Social media is significantly impacting people's lives, particularly the younger generation. These effects can be both positive and negative, depending on how social media is used. To raise awareness, Natural Shades organized a Nukkad Natak (street play) on January 26, 2024, depicting the pros and cons of social media.

Performed by children from various schools in Vasundhara, the play illustrated the effects of social media on different family members and the integrity of family and society. The audience included members of UNI Pockets.

The play highlighted the potential collapse of social life and the ecosystem if current trends continue. It urged parents to set aside time, such as during dinner, for family interactions without phones.

How to manage

Restrict access to certain apps or websites.

  • Teach  about the potential dangers of social media, including cyberbullying, privacy issues, and the impact on mental health
  • Plan family activities that do not involve screens, such as outdoor adventures, board games, or craft projects.
  • Be a role model by limiting your own screen time and demonstrating a balanced approach to technology use.
  • Engage in family activities that promote interaction without screens.
  • Designate certain areas of the home, such as bedrooms and the dining room, as tech-free zones.
  • Establish tech-free times, such as during meals and before bedtime.
